Seven electric bikes fire at a showroom in Pune. Why you shouldn’t charge too much for an e-bike.

On Monday, as many as seven electric bikes burned up in a shop for them in Pune, Maharashtra. The accident happened at night while the cars were charging up for the next day. Luckily, no one hurt. The thing happened in a shop near the Gangadham neighborhood of Market Yard. The fire department used fire tenders to put out the fire. Seven electric bikes that being charged in Pune caught fire.

Monday night, the incident happened at an electric bike shop in Pune, Maharashtra’s Market Yard. At 8 p.m., someone called the fire department, and it took four fire tenders to put out the fire. The fire charred at least seven vehicles during the mishap.

Unconfirmed reports say the fire broke out in Pune at a Komaki Electric Vehicle Division showroom. From Komaki India, the store sells electric scooters and bikes. As far as anyone knew, the were bikes kept at the showroom and were being charged. From what we know so far, the incident may caused by a short circuit caused by overcharging. After a thorough investigation of what happened, the exact cause of the fire would be known.

Recently, the Indian government sent “show cause” letters to Ola Electric, Okinawa Autotech, Pure EV, and others because their battery packs were of poor quality. Based on the Bureau of Indian Standards, the government has set up rules (BIS). In a recent statement, Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister for Road Transport, also made it clear that companies that don’t meet the required standards will have to pay heavy fines.

India has had several fires involving electric vehicles this summer, but thankfully, the number seems to be going down now. But because of growing worries about EV batteries, the Indian government has made rules for them.
