The EQB SUV is based on the ICE Mercedes GLB sold abroad, unlike the EQS. The EQB is a seven-seat SUV with EQ-specific updates like a blanked-off front grille and rear LED light bar. The GLB’s interior is also similar. Mercedes offers the EQB in two states of tune – a 228hp, dual-motor 300 4Matic and a higher-spec 292hp, dual-motor 350 4Matic – but hasn’t confirmed which will be brought to India.

Mercedes-Benz India launch its all-electric EQS sedan this holiday season. It locally assembled. The top-spec EQS 580 4Matic launched, the brand has confirmed. Dual motors on each axle give it all-wheel drive and 523hp and 856Nm. A 107.8kWh (net) lithium-ion battery gives the EQS 580 a WLTP range of 770km. ARAI claims the EQS’s range in India is 750km.
Mercedes EQB India comes standard with Hyperscreen infotainment. It’s a curved panel that spans the width of the dashboard and houses dials, infotainment, and a passenger display. The India-spec car has 19-inch wheels.
The EQS the brand’s first EV assembled in Chakan. No locally built model shares its born-electric EVA skateboard platform, so Mercedes is upgrading its production lines to create the car, including installing the Hyperscreen.
