The ‘Nudity Protection’ function is comparable to Instagram’s Hidden Words feature, which introduced in 2021. The new functionality will enable users to automatically screen direct message requests containing objectionable information.
Reportedly, Meta will employ machine learning to restrict the delivery of naked images on Instagram. A spokesperson for Meta stated, “We are working closely with experts to ensure that these additional capabilities respect users’ privacy and provide them choice over the communications they receive.”
Alessandro Pauzzi, a developer at Meta, has also tweeted a preview of the new functionality.
