Mahindra & Mahindra Limited showed off its five new electric SUVs yesterday. They will go on sale between 2024 and 2026. One of them, the XUV.e8, is an electric version of the very popular Mahindra XUV700. The Mahindra XUV.e8, Mahindra XUV.e9, Mahindra BE.05, Mahindra BE.07, and Mahindra BE.09 are the names of the five cars that were shown at the event at Mahindra’s plant in the UK. The new vehicles are based on a new electric skateboard platform called INGLO. In the future, Mahindra could use this platform for different kinds of cars. Mahindra’s new line of electric SUVs will come with options for both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, as well as more than one battery pack. The cars will also have cutting-edge technology, like an infotainment system with three screens and a navigation system based on augmented reality.
New Mahindra electric SUVs
As India heads into its 76th year of independence, one of its biggest automakers, Mahindra. It has finally joined the mass market electric vehicle game. The Indian Global (INGLO) platform will be used to build the five new cars.
The Mahindra XUV.e8 will be an all-wheel-drive electric version of the Mahindra XUV700. By December 2024, it will be on the roads in India. The next one will be the XUV.e9. Which will look like a coupe and also take design ideas from the XUV700 and XUV.e8. In April 2025, the XUV.e9 will make its debut.
After these, brand-new Born Electric EVs will come out. The first will be the BE.05, which will come out in October 2025. It will be a sporty SUV. In October 2026, the BE.07, a three-row SUV for families, will go on sale.

The new INGLO platform can support between 4.3 and 4.7 metres of SUVs and can seat up to seven people. There are different options for the wheelbase length, and most battery packs will fit. One motor can go on each axle of the platform. The front will have a McPherson strut suspension, and the back will have a five-link break. The platform is also the lightest of its kind. But it has a high level of torsion stiffness and meets the safety standards of Euro NCAP, Global NCAP, and Bharat NCAP.
The INGLO platform will also have one of its class’s highest battery ground clearances, at 218 mm. The battery pack will be between 60 and 80 kWh. It can be charged at 175kW, which lets it set to 80% in 30 minutes. WLTP says that the 80kWh battery pack ranges about 415km. The most powerful model will have around 395bhp. Mahindra says its fastest model can go from 0 to 100kmph in 5.5 seconds.
The cars will also have the latest generation of connected car technologies and options for connecting the car to everything else. The Mahindra EVs will also have a heads-up display based on augmented reality (AR), ADAS level 2, and more.
Chairperson of Mahindra Group Anand Mahindra also said that all five vehicles are in the final stages of development. Three of the five models are likely to go into production so that they can be tested and improved even more.
