According to accounts, DJ Sumbody was riding on Woodmead Street when unknown assailants opened fire on his car, killing him and one of his bodyguards instantly.
Following the news of his death, Twitter has been flooded with condolences. The Amapiano pioneer was responsible for the Tshwane-broadcast programme Mashaedi on Engage.
In 2018, the renowned disc jockey released the song “Monate Mpolaye,” which grew in popularity and garnered national recognition. In addition, he released many albums that garnered favourable feedback, which contributed to his musical success.
