All you need to know about the BMW 6 Series GT 50 M Jahre Edition

As part of the M division’s celebrations for its 50th anniversary, BMW just released the second batch of 10 limited-edition 6 Series GT 50 M Jahre Edition models in India for Rs 72.90 lakh, ex-showroom. These cars exclusive and won’t be sold anywhere else. This limited-edition model is based on the 630i M Sport. It only be reserved through the official BMW India website. The sporty M340i xDrive was the first “50 M Jahre Edition” car to arrive in the country. Interestingly, both 50 M Jahre models put together at the Bavarian automaker’s plant in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Exterior

The design of the 6 Series GT 50 M Jahre Edition is the same as the regular 6 Series GT 630i M Sport. Except that it has the classic BMW Motorsport logo on the hood, trunk, and wheel hub caps. But this special edition 6 Series GT has a BMW Laserlight system with a range of up to 650m. A Comfort Access System that lets you open the doors and trunk without a key.

BMW also lets you choose from four colors for the exterior paint: Tanzanite Blue, Mineral White, Carbon Black, and Bernina Grey Amber. You can select the same colors for the standard 6 Series GT as well. It also has the same M alloy 19-inch wheels as the regular model. The optional Motorsport Pack used to change the look of the 6 Series GT 50 M Jahre. It comes with a black kidney grille, a key fob made of carbon fiber and Alcantara, and 19-inch M alloy wheels in Jet Black.

Interior

The 6 Series 50 M Jahre inside covered in Dakota natural leather that comes in Cognac, Ivory White, and Black with decorative stitching that stands out. The cabin also has M seatbelts, a 12.3-inch driver display, a 12.3-inch central infotainment hub with BMW OS 7. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a parking assistant. Two high-resolution 10.2-inch touchscreens for the back passengers.

Features

BMW gave it the same features as the standard model, like a 16-speaker, 646-watt Harman Kardon sound system, four-zone temperature control, a panoramic sunroof, powered front seats with a memory function for the driver’s seat. Reclining rear seats with Alcantara cushions, soft door close, six-color ambient lighting, a wireless charging pad, six driving modes, and adaptive air suspension with individual dampers for each wheel.

The engine and the gearbox

It has a twin-scroll turbocharged 1,998cc four-cylinder gasoline engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. This motor has 255bhp at 5,000rpm and 400Nm of torque from 1,550rpm to 4,400rpm. So, it can go from 0 to 100kmph in 6.5 seconds.
